Client approvals
Before a filing or return goes, your practice can require the client's approval. The client approves in their own portal, or you record an approval they gave by email, in writing or by phone. The approval is tied to exactly what the client saw: change it afterwards and approval is asked for again.
What it does for your practice
- Your practice chooses, for each kind of filing, whether client approval is required or optional.
- The client sees and approves exactly what will be sent.
- An edit after approval shows as changed, and the approval no longer counts.
- A second reviewer inside the practice can be required too.
- Who approved, when and how is written to your practice's activity log.
How it works
- 1
Set your practice's review and client-approval rules in Settings.
- 2
Prepare the filing or return as usual.
- 3
Ask the client to approve it in their portal, or record the approval they gave you.
- 4
Submit. Fyling checks the approval still matches before anything is sent.
Who it is for
Practices that want written client sign-off on every filing, and a clear record of it.
Your practice stays the filer. Fyling is the software your team uses to prepare, check and send the work.
Questions
What if the client approves by email?
Record it on the filing with a note of how it was given. It counts the same way as a portal approval.
What if I change something after the client approved?
The approval stops counting and the filing shows as changed after approval, so it is asked for again.
Does every filing need client approval?
Your practice decides. For each kind of filing, client approval is either required or optional.
