Corporation Tax returns

CT600

Fyling starts the Corporation Tax computation from the company's approved accounts, takes you through adjustments, capital allowances and losses, and works out the tax with any marginal relief. Your practice reviews and approves the CT600 and sends it to HMRC with the accounts attached.

What it does for your practice

  • Figures come from the approved accounts for the period; a changed figure is marked.
  • Each adjustment is listed, so a reviewer can follow how the tax was reached.
  • Rates are kept in one place, by financial year, and your practice can see them.
  • The accounts sent to Companies House are attached to the return.
  • Every change to the return is written to your practice's activity log.

How it works

  1. 1

Open the company and start the return for the accounting period.

  2. 2

Check the figures from the accounts and add the adjustments to profit.

  3. 3

Work through capital allowances and losses, including a claim to carry a loss back.

  4. 4

Check the tax calculation, with marginal relief on its own line.

  5. 5

Review and approve the return, then send it to HMRC under your practice's credentials.

Who it is for

Practices that prepare Corporation Tax returns for small and owner-managed companies.

Your practice stays the filer. Fyling is the software your team uses to prepare, check and send the work.

Questions

Which rates are used?

The Corporation Tax rates for the company's accounting period, held in one place your practice can see.

Does Fyling decide what is taxable?

No. You choose each adjustment and claim. Fyling does the arithmetic and shows how each figure was reached.

Who submits the return?

Your practice does, under its own HMRC credentials. Fyling prepares the return, sends it with those credentials and keeps HMRC's answer with the return.
